Commissioning of the fifth power unit at EEC scheduled for 2019

The fifth power unit of the Eurasian Energy Corporation will launch next year. This was announced on Wednesday, November 21, by the head of Pavlodar region Bulat Bakauov. Earlier, the vice-president of EEC Marat Bugubaev announced the commissioning of the project in the second half of 2018.

It is planned that the power unit after reconstruction will grow from 300 MW to 325 MW. "As a result, the installed capacity of energy sources in the region will be increased to 8487 MW," the head of the region noted. In addition, the mayor said that the issue of completing the construction of the third power unit at Ekibastuz GRES-2 is being considered.

Entering this project will increase electricity generation by 4 billion kWh. Almost 60% of the electricity produced in the region is exported, the head of the region said.

Eurasian Energy Corporation is one of the largest suppliers of electricity and coal in Kazakhstan, founded in 1996. The EEC unites three structural divisions: the Vostochny coal mine - a unique enterprise for the extraction of coal by the open method, the Aksu power station, and the Production repair department.
