Wind power park with a capacity of 42 MW to be built in Mangistau

The administration of the Mangistau region, South Wind Power and Horgos Jiuhe SilkBridge New Energy Co., Ltd signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the construction of a wind farm near the city of Fort-Shevchenko, the press service of the regional administration reported.

Investors plan to install at least 17 wind generators with a capacity of 2.5 kW. During the construction period, 70 people will work. The volume of investments will amount to 60 million dollar.

"The construction of the wind farm refers to the transition to a green economy, the introduction of environmentally friendly innovative technologies, and this project will also help meet the region's electricity needs. The construction of a 42 MW wind farm will start on 375 hectares of land in the Tupkaragan district. The administration has set the task to begin construction in August this year," the head of the Mangistau region, Eraly Tugzhanov, said.

The land plot for construction has already been determined, the necessary documentation has been developed and agreed upon, positive expert opinions have been obtained.

The Project is included in the Planned Location of Facilities for the Use of Renewable Energy Sources, a Purchase Agreement with the Settlement and Finance Centre has been signed, and a Contract for connection to networks with the Mangistau Electricity Distribution Network Company was signed.
