Nazarbayev invites foreign investors to participate in the implementation of alternative energy projects in to Kazakhstan

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev invited foreign investors to implement common projects regarding alternative energy, and to participate in the implementation of "green financing" in Kazakhstan.

"I suggest our foreign members of the Council to take an active part in the implementation of alternative energy projects in Kazakhstan," he said, speaking at the 30th plenary session of the Council of Foreign Investors on Thursday in Astana.

"We are currently working on development of a green financial system concept. Here the representatives of large financial and consulting institutions are present. We have an experience in implementing green financing in other countries. I suggest and invite you to participate in the development of the concept, to implement green financial products and services here", - head of the state noted.

For this purpose we can use the Astana International Financial Centre platform, N.Nazarbayev added.

Astana International Financial Centre Act, which fixes a special legal regime on the territory of the center, was signed in December 2015. The financial center will have special tax, currency and visa regimes, as well as a special regime for employment of foreign nationals by the authorities and participants of the center.

International financial center "Astana" will start registration of participants of the center from July 1, 2017.

Tasks of Astana International Financial Centre are to assist in attracting investments into the economy of Kazakhstan by creating an attractive environment for investing in financial service, development of the securities market, ensuring its integration with international capital markets. Astana International Financial Centre also intends to develop insurance, banking and Islamic financing markets in the country.
